My name is Jaap van den Hoogen, I am a master student architecture at the TU Delft, Netherlands. In 2017 I have studied one semester at the Royal Arts Academy Copenhagen (KADK) in the Urbanism and Societal Change program and since then I have been living in Copenhagen. On my website, I present a number of projects, which I designed during my Bachelor and Master studies in Architecture at the Technical University in Delft, Royal Arts Academy Copenhagen and the University of Melbourne. Here I have selected a number of projects that reflect my continuous developing views on and passion for architecture.

For me, architecture is about solving problems and creating ideas, combining the needs of the intended users with an ideal functionality and aesthetics. I see optimizing the interaction and fine-tuning between these different requirements as the great challenge and attraction of architecture. The modern city-life is rapidly changing but how does the urban-fabric adjust to this change? How to bring the human scale back to the city? These are some questions which are currently on my mind and topics of my studies.
